Malt-O-Meal Crispy Rice Cereal Cheese Biscuits
These Malt-O-Meal™ Crispy Rice Cereal Cheese Biscuits are a savory, snackable twist on a classic Southern cheese wafer. Sharp cheddar and softened butter create a rich, crumbly dough, while Crispy Rice cereal adds an unexpected crunch that sets these apart from any biscuit you've had before. A pinch of ground red pepper brings just enough heat to keep things interesting. Flatten, bake low and slow, and serve them warm or at room temperature — they disappear fast either way.
Ingredients
- 2 cups Malt-O-Meal Crispy Rice cereal
- 2 cups flour
- 16 tablespoons salted butter, softened
- 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 teaspoon ground cayenne or other seasoning, optional
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, blend flour with softened butter.
- Mix in shredded cheese and Malt-O-Meal Crispy Rice cereal with a spoon or by hand. Include seasonings if desired.
- Scoop mixture into 1–2" balls, then flatten with a fork.
- Bake at 325°F for 14–20 minutes, or until edges are slightly golden brown.
